"Le Cas..." plays off the meanings of the word case, either as an "instance or matter"  (the literal French meaning), or the English homo-nym to mean an object in which to place, put, carry or store something. 

"Le Cas..." contains mysterious, minia-ture vials and bottles filled with various powders, and liquids. 

Are they filled with perfume and cos-metics, or poisons? 

What is the relationship of the two women in the photographs to the possessor of this case--relatives, friends, lovers, or victims?  Is one a photograph of the owner of the case?

Does the owner have a case of a guilty conscience?  If so, of what?
