The pencil box is filled with four colored pencils, each wrapped with hand-written or printed texts as the exterior coating over the wood that protects the leads. 

This piece, if ever used, would,  ironically, render itself useless because if the writing implements were used to write actual commun-ications or to draw, the original messages on the pencils would be diminished with each sharpening. 

Therefore, when the delivered messages on the writing imple-ments disappeared, so too would the writer's ability to communicate any further.
