"The Secret Project of Sigurd O'Leary"

2007.

Mixed media, 3.5 x 10  x 5.5 inches.

This box, though not lidded, per se, does have a clear top that slides on and off.

Piercing an ancient map of the world are 60 holes, some filled with a variety of mysterious ojects that are at once familiar and yet out of context, altered and cryptic.

The objects are extremely small, but, the acute observer will find hidden treasures, such as a portrait of Queen Victoria.

Immediately upon being lifted, there is an audible rolling wave-like noise coming from inside the box, while all the visible objects remain stationary.

When the piece is turned upside down, hundreds of pearls fall through the empty holes.  Once turned upright, the pearls, now covering the map, make the box look entirely different.

But with the slightest motion, the pearls begin to drop back through the empty holes, and more and more of the original con-struction is once again revealed.
